Your account, and how to use the site

An account is free, and it is the only thing you can get here. The concept pages can be read without one.

• Use one account, for yourself. Whatever happens under it is your responsibility, so choose a password you do not use anywhere else.
• Do not attack the site, scrape it wholesale, or try to reach anyone else's record. Automated traffic that degrades the service for other learners may be blocked.
• The mathematics is here to be worked through. Using someone else's account, or automating your way through the questions, does not break anything of ours — it only empties the record of any meaning, which is the one thing the product is for.
• You can leave whenever you like, from Account management on your dashboard, and that removes your record along with the account.

There is nothing to buy

No part of MathDaily is for sale today. No payment provider is connected to it, so there is no subscription, no trial that turns into one, no charge, and nothing to cancel or to be refunded. Everything the site can do, it does for nothing.

If that ever changes, it will appear on the pricing page and in a version of this document with a later date. It will not arrive as a charge.

The material on the site

The concepts, the readings, the questions, the hint ladders, the code and the design are ours. You may read them, work through them, and quote a passage with attribution.

Republishing the material, or feeding the collection into another product, is not covered — ask us instead. We are more likely to say yes than you would expect, and much more likely if you ask.

Your record is yours

We claim nothing over your learning record. We do not sell it, we train nothing on it, and we show it to nobody. It exists in order to be shown back to you, and it goes when you go — see the privacy policy for exactly what "goes" covers today, including the one part that does not go yet.

About the mathematics

Every reading and every question is reviewed before it reaches you: an independent correctness pass has to clear the mathematics, and a person still reads a sample by hand. That process is real, and it is the reason the material is worth five minutes of your morning.

It is not a warranty. Mistakes get through review processes. If you find one, tell us — that is a bug report about the product and we would much rather have it than not.

We do not promise a grade, an exam result, or a rate of improvement, and you should not read anything here as such a promise. What the site is built to give you is a visible structure of what you know, that does not quietly fall down when you are not looking.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be available without interruption, that it is free of errors, or that it fits any particular purpose of yours.

It is a learning aid. It is not professional, academic, financial, medical or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a teacher.

Limits on what we are liable for

To the fullest extent the law allows, MathDaily is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or from your being unable to use it.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

Accounts we may close

We may suspend or close an account that attacks the service, abuses it, or uses it to harm other people. Where we can, we will say why.

You can close your own account at any time and owe us no reason for it.

Changes to these terms

We may revise this page. The date at the top says when the current version took effect, and using the site after that date means the current version is the one that applies to you.

A change that takes something away from you will be a visible change to the text above, with a new date. There is no separate document, and no set of terms that only some readers get.
